International Terminal Lounge Guide

The International Terminal at Brisbane Airport features an excellent mix of airline-operated luxury and highly accessible pay-per-use lounges.

Brisbane Airport (BNE) Lounge

1. Airline Flagship & Alliance Lounges

Qantas International Lounge

  • MASSIVE 2026 WARNING: From April 2026 until late September 2026, the escalators and elevators to the regular lounge entrance are undergoing essential replacement. During this time, you must access the lounge directly after checking in, BEFORE clearing security and passport control. You must allow significant extra time when leaving the lounge to clear customs and security before your flight boards!
  • The Experience: Spanning multiple levels, this lounge reflects the Queensland lifestyle. It features the “Quench” hydration station, dedicated workspaces, and natural light.
  • Dining: A premium hot and cold buffet, Rockpool-designed cocktails, and barista coffee served all day.
  • Access: Qantas/Oneworld Business and First Class, Qantas Gold/Platinum, Oneworld Sapphire/Emerald, and Qantas Club members.

Air New Zealand International Lounge

  • The Experience: Located on Level 4 near Gate 82. This lounge is famous for having the best city skyline views in the entire airport. The chandelier-style lighting pays homage to Brisbane’s Story Bridge.
  • Dining: A highly praised self-serve hot buffet, barista coffee station, and a fantastic array of New Zealand wines.
  • Access: Air NZ/Star Alliance Business Class, Airpoints Gold/Elite, and Star Alliance Gold members.

Emirates Lounge

  • The Experience: Located on Level 4, this lounge offers classic Emirates luxury. Crucially, it is the only lounge at Brisbane Airport that offers direct boarding to the aircraft straight from the lounge, meaning you never have to mix with the crowds at the gate.
  • Dining: Excellent Middle Eastern and Western multi-course dishes paired with premium champagne.
  • Access: Emirates First/Business Class, Emirates Skywards Gold/Platinum. (Eligible Qantas elites flying on an Emirates-operated flight can also enter).

Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge

  • The Experience: A classic, intimate space reflecting the brand’s sophisticated styling. It offers highly comfortable seating pods designed for productivity.
  • Dining: Known for an exceptional Asian hot buffet, featuring signature curries, noodles, and premium beverages.
  • Access: First/Business Class passengers on Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance carriers, and KrisFlyer PPS Club members.

2. Pay-Per-Use, Network & Credit Card Lounges

Escape Lounges (Newest Addition)

  • The Experience: Located on the Mezzanine Level near Gate 82, this is a brilliant, modern sanctuary. It offers ultra-fast Wi-Fi, printing services, and a relaxing vibe away from the terminal chaos.
  • Dining: A locally inspired menu featuring freshly prepared hot and cold dishes, plus complimentary wines, beers, premium spirits, and barista-made coffee.
  • Access & Cost: Completely open to the public regardless of airline! Walk-in entry is $80 AUD, but you can pre-book online for $55 AUD. Also accessible via Priority Pass and DragonPass. (Note: The lounge is strictly cashless and enforces a smart-casual dress code).

Plaza Premium Lounge

  • The Experience: Located on Level 4 near Gate 77. A highly reliable, comfortable space offering charging ports, Wi-Fi, and natural light.
  • Dining: A solid selection of hot buffet items, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
  • Access & Cost: Walk-in entry starts at around $60 AUD for two hours. Also accessible via Priority Pass, DragonPass, and eligible American Express Platinum cardholders.

Domestic Terminal Lounge Guide

The Domestic Terminal is heavily divided between the two major Australian carriers: Qantas occupies the northern end, while Virgin Australia dominates the southern end.

Domestic Terminal Lounge Guide

1. The Qantas Domestic Hub

Qantas Domestic Business Lounge

  • The Experience: A sleek, dark-wood sanctuary reserved for premium flyers. It features excellent tarmac views, private workstations, and shower suites equipped with Grown Alchemist amenities.
  • Dining: Features a “Plate of the Day” station, premium barista coffee, and the signature “Quench” hydration station.
  • Access: Qantas Domestic Business Class, Qantas Platinum/Platinum One, and Oneworld Emerald members.

The Qantas Club

  • The Experience: A massive, lively space serving the bulk of Qantas’ frequent flyers and corporate travelers. It offers plenty of seating but gets incredibly busy during the morning FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) mining rush.
  • Dining: Standard hot and cold buffet, dedicated barista stations, and a fully serviced bar opening at midday.
  • Access: Qantas Club members, Qantas Gold, and Oneworld Sapphire members.

2. The Virgin Australia Hub

Virgin Australia Lounge

  • The Experience: Located near Gate 40 (with a dedicated Premium Entry screening lane downstairs during peak hours). This expansive lounge features Virgin’s signature white architectural curves, vibrant mood lighting, and plenty of power outlets.
  • Dining: Offers a highly popular barista coffee station, an all-day hot and cold buffet, and a great selection of Australian beer and wine from noon.
  • Access: Virgin Australia Business Class, Velocity Gold/Platinum, and eligible American Express Platinum cardholders (when flying domestically with Virgin Australia).

3. Priority Pass Domestic Alternatives

Because there are no traditional independent lounges in the Domestic Terminal, Priority Pass members receive an alternative perk:

  • Dining Credits: Priority Pass holders can use their membership to receive a fixed dining credit (usually $36 AUD) off their final bill at select terminal restaurants, including The Independent, Graze Grill & Bar, The Common, and Mezze Za Za. (Note: American Express-issued Priority Pass cards are no longer eligible for restaurant credits).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Brisbane Airport Lounges

Can I walk between the Domestic and International lounges at Brisbane Airport?

No. The International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal are located in completely separate buildings, roughly a 10-minute drive apart. You must take the Airtrain (which costs a fee) or the free Terminal Transfer Bus to move between them. You can only access the lounge in the terminal your flight departs from.

Does Brisbane Airport have a Priority Pass lounge?

Yes. If you hold a Priority Pass, you can access the Escape Lounges and the Plaza Premium Lounge in the International Terminal. In the Domestic Terminal, Priority Pass gives you dining credits at select restaurants instead of traditional lounge access.

How does the Qantas International Lounge work during the 2026 escalator construction?

From April to September 2026, the traditional airside entrance to the Qantas International Lounge is closed for escalator replacements. You must enter the lounge from the check-in hall on Level 4 before you clear customs and security. Once you leave the lounge, you will then join the standard line for security screening and passport control, so you must leave the lounge much earlier than you normally would!

Can anyone pay to enter the Escape Lounge at Brisbane Airport?

Yes! The new Escape Lounge in the International Terminal is open to all passengers, regardless of what airline or class they are flying. You can pay $80 AUD at the door, or save money by pre-booking online for $55 AUD.
